As someone doing historical research, I scan a lot of microfilm/fiche
directly into my computer into pdf format. While of course getting
the exposure perfect on each scan is one option, that's extremely time
consuming and often not an option - I'm typically in a time rush to
scan as much as possible.
Anyhow, I have found that if I open the PDF in my copy of Photoshop 7
(old, I know), I can make each page of text look pretty much perfect
just by adjusting the levels. Problem is I can only save one page at
a time as an image file, and then have to rebuild the PDF. Is there a
program that would let be adjust basic image settings like levels,
brightness/contrast, and others for each page or globally for the
entire PDF without extracting and rebuilding it? Thanks very much.

I'm a bit confused...Snagit looks like a screenshot utility.
