Create PDF from Web Page?

Date:Mon, 12 Jan 2009 17:23:35 +0100

The Edit >> Create PDF >> From Web Page menu command in Acrobat
Standard 7.0 (Mac version) has two check boxes:

   __Stay on same server
   __Stay on same path

I think I know what these mean -- but would anyone like to give a more
authoritative explanation of what they do?

Thanks . . .

If wanting the entire length of the webpage it may need Snagit. Snagit
saves the entire length of the scroll bar.

Let me know the webpage and your email address, I'll create the pdf for you.

Thanks, but I generally have no trouble capturing web pages into PDFs,
including capturing how deeply I want to go into the site (though I
sometimes get more secondary links captured than I want).

I'd just like to understand a bit better exactly what the two options
above mean.

I think that what you think is correct.
Given a starting URL www.someweb.com/path/index.html, the first option will also
include a page www.someweb.com/at_the_root.html, the latter option will not but
will pick up everything beyond www.someweb.com/path.

My guess is the first option is to be used if you positively want to catch
*everything* on a site; the second, if you know everything is beyond a certain
path. Checking both would not be useful -- the 1st rule implies the 2nd rule.

(What does the Help say about it?)
