Hello group, I have bought a wacom bamboo (with latest driver version 5.104, I even tried out the older version 5.057), but I can't get it to work with gimp, neither with gimp 2.6.4 nor with 2.4.5. I tried to patch the gdk dll on gimp 2.4.5, but gimp does not recognize my bamboo under "input devices", I can only use the pad without the pencil sensitivity. I even tried to use "directxinput" as an input device, but that does not work. Interestingly, I had the "bamboo one" before, which worked fine with g. 2.6.4 and the latest driver 5.104, but unfortunately I exchanged it for a higher version, because it had no eraser tip ... Does anyone have any hint for me? Many thanks in advance Christian

This must be creating a file somewhere (or a registry entry) which Gimp recognizes so it can use the tablet properly. Run Gimep 2.4 and 2.6 without problem (once the utility has been run) with a Bamboo on XP. -- Bertrand

Thanks for your prompt reply, Bertrand, but I have just tried that without any result.
