Good day dear members of the comp.graphics.apps.gimp newsgroup. I've got two layers one on the other. I would like to copy and past in a new image one of them and get rid the other. As much as I try I simply dont find how to do it on Gimp 2.4.5. Please, can You help me ? Many Thanks. Octavio

Select the layer in the layers tab. Press CTRL+a (select all), CTRL+c (copy), then CTRL+SHIFT+v (paste as new image) or create a new image and just paste in there. Note that GIMP's copy/selection tools almost always just apply to the current layer, which is why "select all + copy" really only copies the current layer. -- Joost Diepenmaat | blog: http://joost.zeekat.nl/ | work: http://zeekat.nl/

You may also save your image under a new name (ie. make a copy) and then remove all unneeded layers. HTH, Frank
