All, I have an image: http://msenux.redwoods.edu/mse/ScienceNight/DAVID.GIF I need an easy way to change all of the black pixels to white so ink won't be wasted when the children print this image at Science Night at our college. I've tried "exchange colors", but that did not work very well. Can anyone give me a good idea? Thanks. David Arnold College of the Redwoods

You need the "Select by Colours" tool (Shift+O). Click on the black background to select all black pixels, then drag the white colour swatch from just below the toolbox to the image and the selected pixels will be filled with white. There's probably an alternative and cleverer way by editing the palette entry for black, but I'll have to leave someone else to explain how. -- James Taylor

Hi, when you load the image with GIMP, first change Picture->Mode to RGB (indtead of indexed). Then select (by color) the all black color and fill the selection with white color (fill entire selection). After this, change the mode back to indexed and save as .GIF good luck Kai Dehrmann David schrieb: > All, > > I have an image: > > http://msenux.redwoods.edu/mse/ScienceNight/DAVID.GIF > > I need an easy way to change all of the black pixels to white so ink > won't be wasted when the children print this image at Science Night at > our college. > > I've tried "exchange colors", but that did not work very well. > > Can anyone give me a good idea? > > Thanks. > > David Arnold > College of the Redwoods
